| Both my wife
and I are from Chicago, Illinois. I spent five years on the Big Island, from '82 to
'87, mostly photographing the eruptions of Kilauea and hanging out in the rainforests with
a lot of wonderful people who make up the local population. My wife had visited here
before but never lived here until 1999 when we both returned to Volcano.
We created this web site to showcase the
local talent, have a little fun and maybe make a couple of bucks (not many jobs here).
We also hope people will discover what a unique community this small village is on
the rim of the world's most active volcano. We intend to let this site take on a
life of its own and, like the Big Island,
it will always be changing and growing.
We invite you to join us in our quest for
the volcano. |
