Let us give you a
bit of history. Back in 2002, we were adopted by a female cat who,
unbeknownst to us, had her litter somewhere out on our three acres. Their population exploded as we had (and still
have) difficulty in trapping them so that we can have them spayed/neutered. Additionally, at $50+ to have a female cat spayed,
it has also proven to be a tremendous financial burden as well. As cat lovers, it is most difficult for us to see perfectly
healthy, adorable cats and kittens euthanized. It
just goes against the grain. As a result, we
now have approximately 20 to 26 cats and kittens that we are feeding and caring for daily. In cat food alone, they consume approximately 32
pounds weekly. This translates to a monthly
cost of approximately $80 - $100. Lest you think that we are irresponsible pet owners, please be
assured that the cats weve chosen as pets,
which we rescued from the Hawaii Island Humane Society, have all been spayed/neutered. Did you know that the average number of litters a female cat can
produce in one year is 3? Or that the average
number of kittens in a litter is 4 to 6? That
means that in 7 years, one female cat and her offspring can, in theory, produce 420,000
cats! Thank you to The Humane Society of the If you would like to help us in feeding this bunch, It will be very much appreciated by us and the kitties
